Summary

You thought you’d always be safe there… you were wrong。

Carly had thought they’d always live there。 The beautiful Cornish cliffside house they’d taken on as a wreck, that Mark had obsessively re-designed and renovated – a project that had made him famous。 It was where they’d raised their children, where they’d sat cosily on the sofa watching storms raging over the sea below。 It was where they’d promised to keep each other’s secrets…

Until now。 Because Mark has fallen in love。 With someone he definitely shouldn’t have。 Someone who isn’t Carly。 And suddenly their family home doesn’t feel like so much of a safe haven。

Carly thinks forever should mean forever though: it’s her home and she’ll stay there。 Even the dark family secrets it contains feel like they belong to her。 But someone disagrees。 And, as threats start to arrive at her front door, it becomes clear, someone will stop at nothing。 Because someone wants to demolish every last thing that makes Carly feel safe。 Forever。

An utterly unputdownable psychological thriller about what lies are hidden in the most beautiful homes。 Perfect for fans of Date Night, Gone Girl and The Woman in the Window。

This is another superb, psychological thriller by this talented author。The twenty-fifth wedding anniversary of Carly and Mark is being celebrated with lots of guests in the house they’ve become television stars in as they restored, re-designed and renovated it。 It is their home where they’ve raised their two children but now their family is falling apart, crashing down as Mark is made to reveal his latest affair with someone who had been his daughter’s best friend。 。 。 。 。As Carly’s world breaks This is another superb, psychological thriller by this talented author。The twenty-fifth wedding anniversary of Carly and Mark is being celebrated with lots of guests in the house they’ve become television stars in as they restored, re-designed and renovated it。 It is their home where they’ve raised their two children but now their family is falling apart, crashing down as Mark is made to reveal his latest affair with someone who had been his daughter’s best friend。 。 。 。 。As Carly’s world breaks into pieces, she’s determined to keep the home her mother gave her as a wedding present。 However, it is a home filled with secrets, somewhere she should be safe but someone is determined is out to make sure all her hopes and dreams are scuppered forever。 As the publicity which originally helped make Mark a household name and them both an iconic couple now turns on them and threats arrive, is there any way Carly can keep her home and stay safe? This is an intriguing read with a fantastic final twist I really didn’t see coming。 It is told from Carly’s perspective and has characters to empathise with and a couple of others you’ll definitely not like! You’re never quite certain who to believe, who is being honest and who has never truly been there for Carly。 It is a fast paced, enthralling read with great characters, suspense, surprises and filled with family drama。 If you enjoy psychological thrillers, this is one you really don’t want to miss!Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for my copy of this book which I have voluntarily read and honestly reviewed。 。。。more

WOW! Another great edge of your seat psychological suspense by one of my favorite authors。 Sue Watson is one of the queens of this genre and for good reason。 She is at the top of her game in this latest thriller and I could not put it down。 She knows how to ramp up the tension and keep you guessing until the end。 I have read all of her books and she never disappoints。

WOW!!! Mark was the most despised character of this whole book in my eyes! The more I got to know this character the more repulsed I was by him。 At times I literally was yelling at my Kindle he made me so angry!! Sue’s creativity in The Forever Home was wickedly good! At times I wondered how in the world did she ever imagine this storyline! One of them was even a little out of the norm and could be considered tabooish if you really thought about it。 However, it was so good。 There were some surprising deep, powerful, emotional, in-depth conversations between two unlikely characters that were eye opening for both。 Sue Watson you must get this in the hands of someone at NetFlix or Lifetime Channel! This must be seen on the small screen! It would be as fun to watch everything unfold on screen as it did in our minds as we read it。 。。。more

Mark and Carly Anderson are couple goals。 Married for twenty-five years with two children, a beautiful house on the cliffs of Cornwall and a lucrative TV career, they and their lives are golden。 Or so it seems。 For all that glitters is not in fact gold, and behind the shimmering facade is a marriage full of secrets and betrayal that bubble over the surface when Mark’s scandalous affair is revealed。 As Carly tries to put the shattered pieces of her life back together in the home she’s lived in al Mark and Carly Anderson are couple goals。 Married for twenty-five years with two children, a beautiful house on the cliffs of Cornwall and a lucrative TV career, they and their lives are golden。 Or so it seems。 For all that glitters is not in fact gold, and behind the shimmering facade is a marriage full of secrets and betrayal that bubble over the surface when Mark’s scandalous affair is revealed。 As Carly tries to put the shattered pieces of her life back together in the home she’s lived in all her life- the forever home - strange things begin to occur。 Someone doesn’t think it should be hers。 But how far will they go to take it from her?Taut, tense and twisty, The Forever Home had me hooked。 A story of secrets, betrayal and revenge, the author centres most of the action in and around the Anderson’s idyllic Cornwall home。 The house reveals itself to be the perfect metaphor for the couple’s marriage: perfect and picturesque from a distance, but get up close and you find it is full of cracks and the foundations are crumbling slowly into the sea。 Carly is the narrator of the story, not only taking us on her journey as she deals with the heartbreak and humiliation of her marriage ending, but also detailing the truth of their marriage。 We learn the dark secrets they hid from the public, the lies she told to protect both their children and public image, and the ways she even deceived herself in order to be able to live that life。 She is flawed but I liked her。 And I think anyone who’s had to rebuild their life after a long marriage or relationship has ended will relate to her in some way。 I was very intrigued about what her secret could be and loved how the author teased the reader with its existence, making you wonder if she’s the good person she appears to be。 Mark is a fabulously unlikeable character。 A man only concerned with himself, his career and his public persona, who’s narcissism and entitlement is fed by his fame and has taught him to expect to get his own way。 As it became apparent that his world was also changing, I admit I enjoyed watching him flail as he desperately tried to keep control of his life。The Forever Home is a gripping and suspenseful thriller that I couldn’t put down。 With perfectly timed jaw-dropping revelations, and twists and turns that kept me guessing, Watson had me on the edge of my seat。 A fantastic read for anyone who loves a well-written psychological thriller。 。。。more

As the tension mounts it becomes impossible to work out who to trust and as usual the author has the reader reading long into the night to find out。 The Forever Home had me gripped, there is tension, twists and an ending which gave me a huge dose of satisfaction and some hand clapping。 Solid 4 star read, get a copy if your into thrillers where you question the motives of so many characters and want twists aplenty。 Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for an honest review。 。。。more

I’d have been happy with much of the repetition deleted, the chapters instead making progress toward the end reveal and Carly showing a little more of the gumption that it took to get both of them to the status。 I needed more empathy in at least one of the characters and didn’t feel it for Carly。 FTC Disclosure: I received a complimentary review copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley and these are my honest opinions。 。。。more

I liked Carly and felt for her being married to such a doucebag and was empathic to the secret that she has been living with, which Mark holds over her to get what he wants。 But Carly isn’t the only one hiding a secret and if Mark’s is exposed will ruin his squeaky clean image。The house is also a character within itself and as I was reading the book I was completely under its spell。 Sue Watson has done such a brilliant job bringing it to life through writing that is so very vivid, you feel like you are there experiencing it as the characters do。This book absolutely rocks and I think it is Sue Watson’s best work to date! Well plotted and executed, it is also twisty, addictive and with a jaw dropping fist pumping finale, If you are a fan of psychological thrillers, you do not want to let this one pass you by。 It is definitely a must read and will be part of my best books for 2021!Thank you to Sue Watson, Bookouture and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advanced copy of The Forever Home, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily。 。。。more

Cornwall, and this idyllic house, is the perfect setting for this story, told from the perspective of Carly who takes us on a journey through the 25 years of her 'perfect' marriage to Mark, and Sue Watson tells it beautifully。 I was definitely Team Carly, her strength, courage and tenacity throughout were remarkable。 I took an instant dislike to Mark and felt so much for Phoebe and Jake, who were caught up in the middle of it all。 This book is a fast paced read, with twists along the way and an explosive ending, which I did not see coming! I was drawn into this story very quickly, and struggled to put it down when real life got in the way, when I wasn't reading it I found myself thinking about it constantly until I could get back to it, I was so invested in it that I devoured it in two days。 Surprisingly this is the first I've read of this authors books, though it won't be the last as I have all her other thrillers, and a couple of rom-coms on my kindle。 Another fabulous read from a Bookouture author。I'd like to thank Bookouture and Netgalley for the auto approval, I will post my review on Goodreads now and Amazon on publication day。 。。。more

BLOG TOUR REVIEW Review for 'The Forever Home' by Sue Watson。 Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Sue Watson, Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous Publication date 4th June 2021。This is the second book I have read by this author。 I have previously read 'First Date' which I would highly recommend。 I was originally drawn to this book by its gorgeous eye catching cover and its intriguing synopsis and title。 The synopsis stated that this book is 'Perfect for fans of Date Night, Gone Girl a BLOG TOUR REVIEW Review for 'The Forever Home' by Sue Watson。 Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Sue Watson, Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous Publication date 4th June 2021。This is the second book I have read by this author。 I have previously read 'First Date' which I would highly recommend。 I was originally drawn to this book by its gorgeous eye catching cover and its intriguing synopsis and title。 The synopsis stated that this book is 'Perfect for fans of Date Night, Gone Girl and The Woman in the Window'。 I am a huge fan of 'Gone Girl' so am looking forward to seeing if this lives up to this statement。 I am also a huge fan of Sue and if this is half as good as 'First Date' it is sure to be a great read。 I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Bookouture。 I have yet to read a book published by Bookouture that I haven't enjoyed。 Hopefully this won't be the first。。。 Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book)。This novel consists of a 39 chapters and an epilogue。 The chapters are medium in length so possible to read 'just one more chapter' before bed。。。OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case! This book is based in the Cornwall, UK 🇬🇧。 The bonus for me of books that are partly or fully based in the UK is that I live in the UK and have sometimes visited places mentioned in the book which makes it easier to picture。 I have actually visited and had holidays in Cornwall so am looking forward to see if I recognise anywhere。 This book is written in first person perspective and the main protagonist is Carly。 The benefits of books written in first person perspective are as long as they are well written it makes you feel that you are being spoken to by the protagonist and it can create more of a bond between yourselves and them。 If there are several protagonists you also get to see more of what is going on。Well, well, well Wow!!! What an absolute cracker of a book!!! This book sucked me straight in from beginning to the explosive ending。 It was very well written with excellent descriptions which put me straight into the storyline。 The blog and the cover suited the book perfectly。 The storyline was fast paced and filled with drama, lies, twists, family, shocks, deceit and suspense。 A sadly very believable storyline which kept me on edge throughout。 I loved all the twists and turns and throughout it kept me guessing what was going on and who was doing what。 I would NEVER have guessed at the ending so a MASSIVE WELL DONE to Sue Watson。 I have read many thrillers and it's getting harder and harder for me to be surprised so great job there。 I loved the storyline and just loved everything about it。 It was all done perfectly!! I loved the fact that everything was tied up and explained at the end and there were no loose strings。 An absolutely addictive page turner that kept my heart in my throat on the edge of the seat and absolutely absorbed me。 THE characters were fantastic, solid and completely believable, or are they?? You just have no idea who to trust and wow was I blindsighted! They all had such different and strong personalities and all suited the storyline perfectly。 I had completely mixed feelings for Carly although I would definitely say I mainly felt sorry for her。 I was screaming at her to tell her story but at the same time when you feel someone has a hold on you it's a different story。 Mark was an absolute douche bag and I could not stand him from the moment I met him, I mean seriously??? His attitude!!! Is he for real!!?? Sadly, though that is the reality of some relationships and some people will always twist things to suit them。 Erin was a right brat and I couldn't stand her。 I loved Jake and Phoebe and the fact that they were so grown up about everything, I felt so sorry for what they had to grow up with though。 Ryan? I'm not sure what I thought of him, did he have a hidden agenda? I guess that's the cliff hanger that will keep me guessing。 Overall a very realistic, well defined and strong character line up。 Sue I hope your busy writing your next explosive page turner as I cannot wait!!! Overall a compelling, page turning, mind blowing psychological thriller that will keep you up late at night。 Genres covered in this novel include Thriller, Suspense, Psychological Thriller, Noir Fiction, Psychological Fiction and Domestic Fiction amongst others。 I would recommend this book to the fans of the above as well as fans of C。 L Taylor, Carol Wyer, Shalini Boland, 'Gone Girl' and anyone looking for an epic page turner。 391 pages。This book is just £1。99 to purchase on kindle via Amazon which I think is an absolute bargain for this book!!! Rated 5 /5 (I LOVED it ) on Goodreads, Instagram, Amazon UK and Amazon US and on over 30 Facebook pages plus my blog on Facebook。 Feel free to add me on Goodreads or follow me on my website or Facebook for more reviews #TheForeverHome #Bookouture #SueWatson #NetGalley #BookReview #BlogTour #BooksOnTour@SueWatson @Bookouture @Bookworm1986 @bookworm86 https://kcmw86。wixsite。com/bookworm86https://m。facebook。com/Bookworm1986/?。。。https://m。facebook。com/Bookwork86/?__。。。 。。。more

She filmed it, she told him what to say, she posted videos on social media, she found a way to get support from local businesses to keep working on the house。 hmm。。。。 But one thing is certain, it was their family home。 They raised their two children there。 There kept their secrets there - safe and sound high on a cliff。 What could go wrong? The evening of their decedent anniversary party, Carly learns that Mark has fallen in love with someone else。 When she learns who he is in love with, she must pick her jaw up off the floor。 Shocked, humiliated, and angry, Carly has had enough。 It is her family home, and she is going to keep it。 It was where she grew up, where her children grew up, why shouldn't she keep it? But there is someone who feels entitled to the home。 Someone who wants her out。 Someone who will do anything to claim it。 This was a deliciously fun and entertaining book。 I loved the drama of it, the angst, the characters, the fighting。 This was a fast read which kept me engaged, turning the pages, and guessing what would happen next。 There are some twists, turns and reveals along the way。 With each twist and tiny reveal, my enjoyment grew。 Watson knows how to dazzle and wow readers。 Are her characters being over the top or behaving as someone wronged would behave? That is for readers to decide。 I loved that there were likeable, questionable, and extremely unlikeable characters in this book。 This kept me on my toes while trying to decide the motivation of certain characters。Will the ending blow you away? It did me。 Fast paced, gripping, entertaining and dramatic!Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。 All the thoughts and opinions are my own。Read more of my reviews at www。openbookposts。com 。。。more

The Forever Home is a book full of secrets, lies and revenge and found it a good read even though I wasn’t that enamoured with the main character。We meet Carly as she’s getting ready for a party at her beautiful Cornish cliff side home, her husband Mark is late like always but he eventually turns up just before the guests。 He is a busy man being a tv celebrity and always has an excuse。 Later that evening Carly’s life explodes as she finds out Mark is leaving her for her best friends daughter and The Forever Home is a book full of secrets, lies and revenge and found it a good read even though I wasn’t that enamoured with the main character。We meet Carly as she’s getting ready for a party at her beautiful Cornish cliff side home, her husband Mark is late like always but he eventually turns up just before the guests。 He is a busy man being a tv celebrity and always has an excuse。 Later that evening Carly’s life explodes as she finds out Mark is leaving her for her best friends daughter and she is pregnant。 Carly is glad to be free as what you saw and read about this wonderful couple was very far from the truth。 We follow Carly’s struggle to keep her home and not let her husband and new family have it。 This was a book I enjoyed but would have liked Carly to have had a bit more determination at the beginning, she did get better but I didn’t war, to her for some reason。 The ending was really good though and I didn’t guess it at all so a big thumbs up for that!!I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more
